The following guidelines should be reviewed by the recipient, their family, or the family member in charge of the welfare of the children if the mother succumbed to her Stage 4 Breast Cancer after having participated in our LESLIE'S WEEK RETREAT4STAGE4. It is the responsibility of the recipient to apply for Educational Assistance when they graduate from high school and have a letter of acceptance to an institution of higher learning up to a 4-year Bachelor's Degree at a College, University, or Trade School. If a LESLIE’S WEEK recipient misses the graduation deadline they remain eligible for this one-time Grant until the age of 21 as approved by the Board of Directors on June 23, 2024.

  • Our LESLIE’S WEEK children who attended the RETREAT4STAGE4 with their mother, or with their father if their mother was deceased before the dates of the RETREAT, are eligible applicants. They must supply the following documentation:

    1. Their Letter of Request and a Copy of the Letter of Acceptance from an Accredited Educational Institution.

    2. They need to include in their letter the year they attended the LESLIE'S WEEK Retreat and what it meant to them.

    3. If they are enrolled in a school of higher education and do not have their letter of acceptance a transcript may be submitted as proof.

  • The letter of request must be submitted on or before June 30th. The EAF administrator will provide an acknowledgment of the candidate’s letter of request.

    OPTION 1: Apply Online
Submit your letter of request and a copy of the acceptance letter from the institution in PDF format via email to [email protected]

    OPTION 2: Apply Through Mail
Mail the letter of request and a copy of the acceptance letter from the institution via USPS mail to LESLIE’S WEEK, PO Box 5856, Annapolis, MD 21403.

  • The LESLIE'S WEEK Educational Assistance Fund (EAF) committee reviews the applicants. A response award letter for Educational Assistance is sent to the applicant and institution usually on or before August 1. Educational Assistance awards are based on the LESLIE’S WEEK financial ability to fund the awards.

    • The Board of Directors determines the amount each year of each award.

    • LESLIE'S WEEK notifies the candidate and the institution of the award amount.

    • First Southern Bank, administrator of the EAF Grant, submits a cashiers check to LESLIE'S WEEK Honoring the Mother. The check and cover letter from LESLIE'S WEEK are mailed to the institution Bursar's office.

These Guidelines are subject to change and are periodically updated. LESLIE’S WEEK will publish awards or photos submitted by candidates on our website. For additional assistance, email EAF @lesliesweek.org.
